Picture perfect shoot

December 29, 2010

The Daytona Beach Spring Break History Project held a casting call for people between 18-30 on Tuesday, Nov. 16, so how could I miss it? I remember Daytona Beach being THE destination. Somewhere down the line, whether it was the police crackdowns or Miami’s draw, the crowds stopped coming. It’s not what it used to be.

Except NOW. Ron, my former co-worker at the Daytona Beach News-Journal is working on a project, which is documenting the history of spring break, so we were told to party like it was 1979, 1982 and 1985. I even had a wardrobe change.

Here are some of the people I met (posted with permission):

I met up with Lauren, left, and Britney, right, early in the night.

Patrick was my dance partner during one of the dance scenes.

Traveling back in time from the ’80s to the ’70s — here I am after a wardrobe change.

Natasha, above, who I met that night, also had a wardrobe change.

I capped off the evening dancing with Morgan, who is a singer. I can’t wait to go to one of her performances!

We danced in this area.

The documentary is supposed to air on HBO in 2011, so stay tuned! If tonight was any indication, expect a fun ride down memory lane!
